Which coast should I visit, and when?

It depends on the season. The south and west are best from around November to April, and the east from May to September, when the other coast is wetter. East Coast & Whales suits the May to September window, while Southern Sands works through the northern winter. We route you to whichever coast is in season.

Can I surf, snorkel or see whales?

All three, in the right season. Weligama is one of the gentlest places to learn to surf and Arugam Bay is the classic point break, the reefs at Pasikuda and Nilaveli are made for snorkelling, and Mirissa is the base for blue whale trips. We build the ones you want into the route.

Are these purely beach trips?

They are coast-led, but rarely only sand. We usually fold in Galle Fort at sunset, a Mirissa whale boat, a stilt-fisherman dawn or a lagoon safari, so there is rhythm to the days as well as rest.

Can the coast trip be tailored?

Yes. We match the beaches, hotels and pace to your season and your style, from a laid-back southern week to a longer Island Shores loop that links two coasts.
