Escape Routes is the trading name of Escape Routes (Pvt) Ltd, a tour operator registered in Sri Lanka and based in Kandy. These terms govern your use of this website and the travel-planning and tour services we provide. By browsing the site, requesting a quote, or booking a trip with us, you agree to them. If you are booking on behalf of others, you confirm you have their authority to accept these terms for them.
Using this website
You are welcome to browse, share, and use this site to plan your travel. The words, photography, itineraries, and design on it belong to Escape Routes or our partners and are protected by copyright — please don't reproduce them for commercial use, harvest the site with automated tools, or interfere with its normal operation. We may update or remove content at any time, and while we work to keep the site available, we can't guarantee it will always be uninterrupted.
Quotes, bookings, and payments
Any prices, itineraries, and availability we share are a starting point for planning and remain indicative until we confirm your booking in writing. A booking becomes firm once we issue a written confirmation and you pay the deposit stated in it. The deposit amount, payment schedule, currency, and balance due date are all set out in that confirmation. Some parts of a trip — flights, permits, and certain accommodation — are provided by third parties and may carry their own terms, which we'll pass on to you where they apply.
Changes, cancellations, and refunds
Plans change, and we try to be flexible. The terms for amending or cancelling a trip — including any non-refundable deposit and the notice needed for a refund — are detailed in your booking confirmation. Where events beyond our reasonable control (weather, closures, strikes, and the like) make part of an itinerary impossible, we'll arrange an alternative of equivalent standard wherever we can and keep you informed throughout.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for holding a valid passport, the correct visas, and any vaccinations or health requirements for travel to and within Sri Lanka, and for giving us accurate traveller details when you book. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering medical care, cancellation, and your planned activities. We also ask that you travel considerately — respecting the communities, wildlife, and cultural and religious sites you visit with us.
Our responsibility to you
We plan and coordinate your trip with care and choose suppliers we trust. We act as the organiser of your itinerary; some services are delivered by independent third parties whose own conduct is outside our direct control. To the extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to the value of the services you booked with us. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and any disputes relating to them fall under the jurisdiction of the Sri Lankan courts.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time as our services and the law evolve. The date at the top of this page shows when we last revised them; the version in force is the one published here when you use the site or make a booking.
