Pasikuda Bay
An exceptionally shallow, calm bay you can wade far out into.

A shallow bay you can wade far out into.
Pasikuda is famed for one of the longest stretches of shallow coastline in the country — you can wade hundreds of metres out into warm, waist-deep water with barely a wave. That, plus a curve of soft golden sand, has made it the east coast's main resort beach, lined with the largest cluster of hotels on this side of the island. The calm conditions suit families and casual swimmers, while the broad neighbouring bay of Kalkudah offers a quieter, more natural alternative. Recovering offshore reefs can be reached on calm-day snorkel and dive trips, and it is all at its best in the eastern dry season.
